Deep dive
During my first semester in 10th grade, with the Innovation Academy, I got the opportunity to work on the Deep Dive project. This project consists of pairs finding a real life problem and creating a solution to it. I worked with Vasco, and we wanted to base our project on crime as well and on education. So we decided to work with the kids at a school located far away from the city, in a unprivileged neighborhood. The objective was to talk to the kids and do activities with them, while teaching them to make the right choices in life, so if someone in their family is a criminal, it doesn't mean that they're too. We wanted the kids to know they are equal to any of the other kid outside of their neighborhood and even though society might judge them because of where they live and how they look, they shouldn't listen and instead, they should create their own succeeding life.
To finalize the project, we had to take deep photos that conveyed the message we wanted to convey with our project and add a description to it. With the photos we took, we created a photography exhibition that brings Limeñan issues to light.

Title: La idea equivocada
Description: Children of criminals are definitely ready to dedicate themselves to the life of crime. Misconception. Children who are in the lower social class, are considered criminals by society. They have the same potential, as anyone else to follow their passion in life, but because of this stereotypes, they start to lack confidence. In this photo, an average kid who has the mind of "criminal" stereotype written on himself, is washing off crime. This is shown by the handcuffs, wanting to get privileged education, and by the book being upside-down.

Title: Amor y Seguridad
Description: Love and safety have a high importance in a kid's life. Lacking one of these two important traits can create a harsh change on the child. We decided that on this picture we wanted to convey the suffering that these kids feel at some unprivileged campuses, they are treated like criminals, cohabit in, a circumstance that we only wish to the worst of the worst, because of the lack of care by society.
Title: Un nuevo comienzo
Description: In this picture, we wanted to show a kid who is exposed to the life of crime but trying to leave it in order to create a better future. By showing the kid washing his hands we want to convey one of the major things taught to you in the early years of education: Keep a clean reputation. In this case, the kid is leaving the life of crime behind and becoming and starting as fresh.
