Independent project

The Independent Project is a project which students in the Innovation Academy do, in order to find their passion. Throughout 10th grade, I have had the opportunity to realize three of these, from which I have gained lots of new experiences that I would love to share with the anyone out there. In this projects, I was able to plan my deadlines, seek for experts, and gain expertise.

Below are the projects I completed:

PHOTOGRAPHY

This was my first Independent Project and its purpose was to take photos of streets and/or buildings and then frame them and place them in my house. I had my parents as my audience because they had to approve the photos since they were going to be placed in my house. For my expert, I had my uncle, who's a professional photographer.

In order to realize this project, I had to learn everything there is to know about photography to take a good shot. This went from learning how to use a camera, to the composition and exposure. As my final product, I ended up with three main photos which I took with all the learning I did on photography throughout the semester.

Below are the photos:

TOTE BAG

Designing and fabrics are what I mainly learned about in this project. The purpose of making a tote bag was for me to experience something new, and if I get to know a new passion of mine. This independent project consisted on designing tote bags for myself, for daily use as well as to take to school.

Below are some of my designs and a photo of my final Tote:

BOOK CHAPTER

To be honest, designing wasn't my thing so I wanted to try out something completely different, and psychology had caught my eye. Since I started doing this project about three three weeks before school was over, I was aware that I will have to put lots of time into it knowing that my final result will not be as good as it would be if I had one semester to work on it. Nevertheless, I was willing to take this risk and challenge myself.
